Lots! Apart from enjoying the Christmassy atmosphere at our lovely Christmas Market (also good for present shopping, of course!), there is plenty going on during December in Bath and nearby. See below for a few suggestions…

Bath On Ice: 17 Nov 2023 to 3 Jan 2024
Glowing in atmospheric lights, Bath on Ice is back for its 11th year and is the perfect place to practise your skating and show off some moves. With wintery music, a cosy bar, and seasonal drinks, you’ll be transported to a dreamy winter wonderland! Whether you’re a Dancing on Ice champion, a total newbie or just about anything in between, you can be sure to find some festive euphoria on the surface of the genuine ice.


Bath Independent Christmas Market at Green Park Station: 17 Dec 2023
Under one stunning glass roof you will find this vibrant Christmas market filled with local independent up & coming and established contemporary artists, designers, makers and traders – offering a wide range of unique handmade creations such as artwork, jewellery, clothing, gifts, products & items. Still Sisters Gin will be offering their London Dry Gin – which they distil in Somerset, using botanicals sourced from independent businesses.

Christmas at Stourhead: 1 Dec 2023 to 31 Dec 2023
Christmas at Stourhead provides a special way to celebrate the festive season with an unmissable after-dark experience. The trail is designed for visitors of all ages and is accessible for everyone to enjoy. New features
this year include a Sea of Light stretching into the distance, larger-than-life crystals suspended in trees, and Liquid Lake, which fills the air with all the colours of the rainbow.

Christmas at Bath’s National Trust Properties: 20 Nov 2023 to 7 Jan 2024
A day out with the National Trust near Bath could transport you back in time to meet a Victorian family or to see what it would’ve been like preparing for Christmas in the 17th-century. There’s also decorations and Christmas trees galore, lots of opportunities to meet Father Christmas, plus winter walks and warming refreshments. Dyrham Park is just a 15 minute drive from central Bath but there are plenty more National Trust properties within easy reach for an afternoon out.

The Snowman and Bath Philharmonia at The Forum: 16 Dec 2023
The classic animated film “The Snowman” on the big screen accompanied by live orchestra with a hamper of seasonal orchestral delights. ‘The Forum’ is in the centre of Bath and an easy walk from both our apartments.

Meet Father Christmas at No.1 Royal Crescent: 2 Dec 2023 to 24 Dec 2023
Father Christmas is making a special stop at No.1 Royal Crescent this year, he’s keen to experience the ’12 Tales of a Georgian Christmas’ tour! The children will be greeted by Christmas helpers and led in to our beautifully decorated Servants Hall where Father Christmas will read them a story. They will have a chance to talk to him, have a photo with him and there is a special post box if your child would like to leave a letter for him.

Winter Wonderland at Wookey Hole Caves: until 1 Jan 2024 This December, you’re invited to get into the spirit of Christmas with Santa and his elves at Wookey Hole’s Winter Wonderland. Your ticket for Winter Wonderland includes three very special Christmas experiences including 100,000 lights illuminating the caves wrapped up into one magical day out, plus all the other great activities available at Wookey Hole

A Christmas Carol at Hobgoblin – 8 and 9 Dec 2023
‘A Christmas Carol’ is a fun retelling of the classic Dickensian story which is suitable for families with children from 4 years old. All the characters are there, from the grumpy Mr Scrooge, loveable Bob Cratchit to Tiny Tim! The 60-minute play has lots of audience participation and is fast paced and funny. It has been especially written to appeal to families and children, so there’s no need to worry about it being scary! Treat your family to some festive fun this December.
